I have a HP External Optical Drive and when I insert a DVD I am noticing a synchronization issue where sound does not align with image. I have a Mac Studio with the macOS 14.0 Sonoma Operating System. My initial troubleshooting was to RESTART in Safe Mode to clear cache etc. then RESTART both Cinema Display and the Mac Studio.

The synchronization seems to be OK for 1 to 2 seconds but then goes out of alignment.

Most responses to this issue suggest a pro quality DVD but I have an internal optical drive on a Desk Top Mac Pro and when I insert these DVDs I have no synchronization issue. The sound and image align.

I purchased an Apple USB Superdrive and the HP External DVD RW optical drive and the synchronization is still present when I run the DVD using an external drive versus the internal optical drive on my old Mac Pro Desk Top.

Can anyone help me resolve this synchronization issue or suggest any way to connect my old Mac Pro Desk Top to my new Apple Cinema display.
